Hi, I'm the E-Space

You have heard of me, but perhaps are not fully aware of my potential in relation to connected learning.
I know that I am constantly evolving and it is hard to keep up with new trends but how about giving me a go?

You could start with social networking. No, not Facebooking what you are having for lunch.

Develop a Personal Learning Network so that you and your students can extend learning across geographically different locations, share with others and collaborate with audiences both locally and globally in real-time discussions.

Take it from me Twitter is fantastic but it is #addictive.

If you haven't visited Kathy Schrock's site before, I suggest you do it now.

Blogging is another E-Space. Tell the world what amazing things are happening in your classroom and school. Here is one example   http://mscassidysclass.edublogs.org

Film your learning and share it on YouTube.

Be part of something exciting like Simultaneous Storytime.

Skype can be used to meet new friends around the world.

Collaborate with Google docs.  Try Google Apps for Education

I'll stop now, I'm sure  you get the idea.  If you want to explore further just search Social Media in the classroom and you'll find plenty of resources to assist you.

Oh, and your students will understand.  They are digital natives and have a unique ability to collaborate seamlessly on Wen 2.0 platforms.

If you want some inspiration watch this to this.

I need to point out that there are rules for engaging in the E-space. Netiquette, the etiquette we use when on the net,  is very important.  Here is an example:

Here is an article to help your understanding of Netiquette.

You will also need to consider whether you have permission to publish images on the web.

Sometimes, because I am accessed on an electronic device, there can be issues with connectivity or distraction from other websites and apps. You know what students are like, let them play for a bit first.

I look forward to collaborating with you on a Web 2.0 platform.

Yours sincerely

The E-Space
