Hi, I'm the Liminal Space

I'm not visible like the other spaces.

I am more of a position in time.

I am part of the Learning Journey.

I am probably the most challenging but my rewards are great.

I can be uncomfortable for some as the path ahead is not always clear.

I can be exciting for some as the path ahead appears.

I am a guide to help you take risks and embark on opportunities.

I am the growth of your mindset.

“… It is when you have left the tried and true, but have not yet been able to replace it with anything else.  It is when you are between your old comfort zone and any possible new answer. If you are not trained in how to hold anxiety, how to live with ambiguity, how to entrust and wait, you will run…anything to flee this terrible cloud of unknowing.” - Richard Rohr

This video I created with my friend E-Space may help you to understand me better.

All I ask is that you to be a model.

No, not on the cover of Vogue, just on the cover of your student's memory file.

Help your students to think positively about adjustments in their learning journey. Model a positive attitude towards change. Record instances of change. Share them in an E-Space.

Take some risks yourself. Try different methods and be open to change, remember you have the not only the classroom and the school but there are also spaces Beyond the Classroom.

Be mindful as everyone approaches my space differently and has their own Personal Learning Space. Listen, understand with empathy and allow time for processing.

Be open minded. Think flexibly and respond to needs.

Give permission. Sometimes students need the support to move on.

Remain open to continuous learning. Share your own Professional Development with the students and with others.

Share the journey through:

Don't forget o share them wth others (E-Space).

In short, there is no simple passage in learning from ‘easy’ to ‘difficult’; mastery of a threshold concept often involves messy journeys back, forth and across conceptual terrain (Cousin, 2006)
